The feeling that they could be wasting time (i.e. doing nothing, waitng for the lift to arrive) makes them feel, well, that they're wasting time, so they keep pressing it to ure themselves that being late can have nothing to do with them since they haven't stopped doing anything.

At my age... I have issues with my mother?

I am 61, my mother is 90. I look back on my life and how I used to worry about her dying. She always seemed to be unwell when I was a child and I spent so much time worrying about her. I look at her now and I think why did I waste so of my childhood worrying about her? She is still here at 90 and what an acid drop she is. She has turned into a horrid woman with a very negative, suspicious attitude. I realise now she is and has suffered with depression for a lot of her life. My sister has a mental illness after suffering a nervous breakdown 24 yrs ago. My mother now lives with my sister and it is a very negative household. I have tried to get services in to help them, but the reject me and my help. My mother was always wary of my sister and yet she chose to live with her after giving up her own home and live with my sister. My mother is verbally abusive towards me and then if she happens to be 'caught out' she changes her tune and denies having said nasty things. She is waiting to go into aged care. Her home still has to be emptied and cleaned. It is up to me to organise this. I just want to be free of her, the truth be known, she is constantly on my mind and when I have to see her and my sister, I get a knot in my stomach. Would I be awful if after she goes into aged care if I don't visit? She has turned me against her and I don't trust her. I am the odd one out in my family.... mum and my sister smoke. I am a non smoker. My interests are different, I still go out to work, I have a husband. My sister is divorced. She was in hospital recently with her mental problems and I read a journal of hers I found. It was sickening to read and any respect I had for her has completely gone. She wrote it when her married was breaking up and it was all about her problems at the time, obsession with money and her almost ex husband and her jumping into bed all the time. I wish I hadn't read it, but I did and every time I look at her it makes me sick. I don't like my sister or my mother very much. They are a miserable negative pair and I wouldn't care if I never saw either of them again. I have nothing to talk to them about. My mother is happy to sit and smoke and do puzzles all day or talk at me when I do see her. My sister is suspicious and asks stupid questions. I realise they are both very sick, but there is nothing I can do, or can I?

I have been talking with this guy for two months and so far everything has been good. He hasn't lied but he has tendency not to fully explain situations, especially when it's a dramatic one. It has been about 4 days since I last spoke to him and he says his reason for being absent is because he has midterms and a project due. I feel like he is avoiding the situation and he also claims that they got into a huge argument and that he isn't even speaking to her right now. SO WHAT TO DO? Should I leave him alone until he contacts me again or should I take the initiative to contact him and get to the bottom of this?

Guinea pigs sneezing?

I've had my two guinea pigs for about a week now. They have carefresh ULTRA (the white, more expensive kind), timothy hay, pellets, tunnel, pet bed, fleece blanket and a wooden get away. For some reason they've been sneezing, the little one more than the bigger one. They are both happy, talkative, popcorning pigs. They act 100% healthy, except for the sneezing. There is no discharge. Could they be allergic to something? Is the bedding too dusty? I thought carefresh ultra was the best of the best, or so I've heard. I'm going to the store tomorrow to stock up on couple things for them, including a new bag of bedding. Should I try another kind? Thank you!

Why can't this trick make ground-based scopes as good as Hubble?

The noise introduced by atmospheric turbulence and pollution causes photos from the best ground telescopes to be much worse than from Hubble. Why not use simple noise-reduction techniques? Such as... take 100 digital photos of the same object and average them. The noise should cancel itself out. I know I'm wrong about this because if I can think of it, so can astronomers. Question: why am I wrong? Also, if you take a very long exposure photo from a ground-based scope (1 hr or more), why doesn't the atmospheric noise cancel itself out?

With summer in full swing, I was wondering...How does one keep safe, health wise, while...?

Up until recently I was living in hotels about 80-90% of my year. Most of the hotels I stayed in were fine. Since I was a long term guest, I did things differently than most people do. I only wanted my room to be cleaned 2 times a week. I would take care of it the rest of the time. On the days that they cleaned, I would strip my bed and leave the sheets in a pile at the foot of the bed. This ensured that they changed the sheets. I would also tip the housekeeping staff well. Make good use of Lysol spray and stay at higher end hotel chains. other than that, it is a crap shoot.

How can I make my tetras less timid?

I have three black phantom tetras in a 10 gallon tank, but everytime I approach the tank they all hide in a corner behind a ceramic ornament. I've had one of the tetras for three years and the others for 1-2. They will come out if I feed them, but they eat better if I walk away from the tank and watch them at a distance. There's this guy in my cl and he sits right in front of me in English. He's a younger version of Greg Raposo. He has that bad boy kind of look but hes the sweetest guy ever. Does the city water dept change your water pressure?

I have no leaks in my house, and I usually only use about 70 gallons per day on the average. Once a week, I will do two large laundry loads which runs to abut 150 for the day. However, recently I have noticed that my meter shows I'm using 100 gallons per day several days in a row when I'm using about the same as I do on a daily basis. Again, I have checked for leaks in my house as well as at the water meter. No signs. So, does this leave water pressure? If so, why would the city water dept change the water pressure? Can they control the water pressure for each individual house? I can't understand what the problem is.

I like the idea, but it does seem to lack a storyline. The revenge storyline rarely works, normally it's accompanied by something else as well. Also I was once told that if you intend to make a good story of any kind you really do need to figure out where you are starting, where you're going and what is going to make the whole thing end. Anything thing to remember is that animes (for the most part) have very strong story lines and their characters are people that you come to know and love. Characters and storyline are what make or break an anime, there are some animes that became successful without a storyline, such as Ouran High School Host Club and Galaxy Angel.

I would tend to think that there are many forms of life in the universe. What should I tune my guitar to?

So I don't want to keep tuning my guitar up and down but there are always some songs that I can't play when I'm in a certain tuning. Which tuning would get the most songs out of the music I like? Hello I often have crazy ideas and I have one for a hoverboard. My idea is to have a skateboard's wheels taken off. Next mount a neodymium magnet onto the bottom of the wheel-less skateboard. After that nail a small board to each side of the skateboard and another board to connect the two smaller ones. After that mount the two more neodymium magnets onto the board that connects the two small ones so they would propel against the the one. After that hook up a car battery or a strong PDA battery to a switch and hook it connect it to the two neodymium magnets that will propel against the one by soldering it or something. Do you think that would be enough to make an actual hoverboard?

I want to get a Longboard or Freeboard for Christmas because i snowboard in the winter and want one something like snowboarding for summer. Does ground beef turn brown after freezing?

I bought some beef back in January. I froze it in 1.5lb packages. We took it out to thaw Tuesday morning. It's now technically Friday morning and I took it out to cook it for sloppy joes. I wouldn't say they're doomed. It sucks that highly qualified students such as Yu aren't getting into the colleges they want to, but there are ways around it. The best idea in my mind (I'm about to graduate from SDSU) is to go to a community college first, and then transfer. Some community colleges offer programs that guarantee admission into universities after you complete a certain course load. Community colleges are much much cheaper anyways, it's nice to be able to relax a little bit and figure out what you want your major to be instead of picking a major before you even go into college and then being stuck with it unless you want to pay a bunch more to continue going to a university.

If you want to know my honest opinion, i don't think you should ever go skiing, because your going to hurt yourself and probably others, and its not fun to be at a ski hill where there are people who put you in danger. Need help with my 9 month olds schedule?

so my daughter is 9 months old. She has always been a great baby, slept through the night early etc. she used to always fall asleep in her bouncer or swing on her own etc. Last month we moved to a new home, and ever since it all changed. Sarah, the best answer to this is to see an orthopedist. A simple x-ray will determine if there is a fracture or something else such as a ganglion. A ganglion is a herniation of a tendon. The herniation will push up through the bones of the wrist and become painful when you extend your wrist just as you have stated. If this is what is present then they are going to do one of two things. The first is to aspirate the cyst, draw the fluid out of the cyst and then inject it with a fluid that should reduce the size of the cyst. If that fails to help the situation then they would have to cut the ganglion out. The danger with a ganglion is that it can force the bones of the wrist out of position making it impossible for normal functions let alone gymnastics. See a doctor about this.

My husband and I are starting a business and wanted to trademark our product name. After researching we found that there is another business (which we believe is no longer doing business) in another part of the country who is doing or attempted to do the same sort of thing that we are. The business names are very different but the actual product name is very close (ex. ABC Card vs. ABC Rewards Card). We had no idea that this other business had this name registered until we did the search. We have not started doing business yet but are very disappointed and are afraid that the trademark application would be rejected. We read that it takes 6 mos - a year to hear back from the Trademark office. We don't want to start doing business with that product name now and then find out down the road that we are infringing on a TM. It could actually be a leak in the system some where. As very small leak can go unnoticed and can actually suck air into the system as the water cools between calls for heat. Also if your circulator is not producing enough pressure drop the air cannot be absorbed into the water and eliminated through your air separator. The air is then being trapped in this radiator. My chest/ribs really hurt?

I've had bronchitis for three weeks now (just had xray to rule out pneumonia and cracked ribs) but my ribs hurt so bad when I cough it brings tears to my eyes, and I'm also having a bit of a hard time breathing. Last time I went to my doctor she gave me a very small amount of Tussinex for the cough, stating she didn't want to give me too much because it wouldn't be good for me, but isn't it just as bad for me to be awake every thirty minutes from coughing so hard? OTC cough medicine doesn't help at all. Should I go to Urgent Care as a way of getting a second opinion? I also feel like I have an ear infection/sinus infection.

Sore throat after vomiting?

I vomited all day yesterday. At first I thought it was a hangover because I had done a bit of drinking the night before, but it felt different and lasted way too long. (Almost all day) I also ate some oysters the night before so it could of been food poisoning or a bug of some sort. My throat hurt pretty bad afterwards but I figured it was because I had thrown up so much. I just woke up from sleeping and now my throat hurts even worse and is pretty red. What could this be? (Vomiting has stopped and I feel much better in that aspect)
