What madden should i get?

i wanted to get a madden football game for my xbox 360. have not played a madden game since sega genesis. But i want to get a madden game where i can play as some legends and new players like myteam could be emmit smith with marino and some new players like fitzgerald and owens. Is there such a madden game where you can play a season with old legends and current stars? I am thinking like a season where i can have a draft does it exist in the game? like baseball. I think i might get madden game between the years 06-08. not the new version. please help out with my questions. i like the older players so i want a game i can use them with in the season like marino, smith, lt , irving, aikman esxt.
