Are you prepared for ?

This is a two part question..Since the earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan ,My mother in law and my wife ,have started hoarding tin food and provisions ,as they think something is going to ,or could happen here. Now here is Derby city,in the middle of England ,with Ireland and Wales and Mountains like snowdonia in between us and the Atlantic Ocean ,so a tsunami would find it hard to reach us..We have very few earthquakes here in England that are even felt. So first what possibilities of a cattaclismic event can we expect to happen.Apart from a comet hitting direct,that hoarding would help.second have other people felt the need to hoard. I humour my wife and mother in law.
