Just want some opinions?

Generally in behavior like that it's a case of a person being insecure about themselves even putting down petty thing's like a band someone likes. It makes them feel better to put someone else down for the music they like or they way they dress in order to make up for their own inadequacies as a person. Same with jealousy it's a form of insecurity for example.
